A lime tree gives you fresh, juicy limes for cooking, drinks and baking. Limes are among the more cold-tender citrus, so many Slidell gardeners grow them in large containers that can be moved to shelter during freezes.

• Light: Full sun
• Cold: Protect when temperatures drop near freezing
• Tip: Feed with a citrus fertilizer in spring and summer
